Collective Wellness is the celebration of the human body and all of the ways we interact with the world around us. We believe in the power of the individual human spirit and the incredible things we can accomplish when we grow together. Whether you stretch after work or do yoga every evening, bike to work daily or just once a year, lift weights or casually garden—everybody is an athlete. Many of us find it easy to drift from sports, training, and intensive self-care, but taking a break doesn’t mean quitting. All people are athletes, and we should all have access to spaces where we can learn, play, grow… and most importantly: belong.

At Collective Wellness, we believe that health and well-being are more than just hard bodies and protein shakes—Wellness is about the harmony between mind, body, and soul. Not only taking care of, but understanding and respecting our bodies, so we can experience balance, both mentally and physically.

Together, Lexie & Damian have created a space that’s more than just a gym; it’s a women-founded community, where athletes (yes, you!) come together in group sessions to train to get individually strong and collectively well. The personalized attention to individual needs that Collective Wellness offers is a far cry from your run-of-the-mill box gym, where you muscle your way to sit at a machine, headphones in, indifferent to your fellow gym-goers.

With over two decades of combined hands-on experience, Lexie and Damian are creating something new. Something intimate. A space free from judgment or limiting beliefs. A place where women can play with barbells and men can jam out to Britney.

This is Collective Wellness.

More than a gym

Collective Wellness is a private fitness studio conveniently located in the heart of southeast Portland. We offer 1:1, partner, and semi-private personal training sessions. All of our training plans include access to the facility with no additional membership costs.

Collective Wellness is more than a gym, it’s a community. Come be a part of our team!

Training with Lexie

With over 19,000 individual sessions in over a decade of training as both a personal trainer and wellness coach, Lexie Frenz has helped hundreds of clients find balance in their lives and harmony in their movement. Growing up a competitive athlete, Lexie developed a love for health and fitness early, but her approach as a trainer is deeper than simply “working out”.

She believes in a 1:1 approach, built on individual performance with a focus on nurturing your body, mind, and soul—strength comes when all three are in harmony. She works with her clients to reach fitness goals by designing functional strength programs tailored to each person’s wants and needs. Mentoring her clients through rehabilitating mindsets and creating lasting, sustainable habits around movement and nutrition that lead to life altering body confidence and overall physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Lexie enjoys all sorts of activity: weightlifting, figure skating, hiking, long distance cycling, backpacking overseas or exploring the Pacific Northwest, preferably on a bike. She knows that we are all athletes, and each of us has the strength within us to find strength outside of ourselves.

Fun Fact: Lexie is currently training for her fourth century ride

Training with Damian

Damian has spent the last 10+ years training and coaching competitive Olympic-style weightlifting. His love for sport, functional training, and mindful movement has guided his health, wellness, and professional journey.

Through a multitude of training modalities, his focus is on helping clients develop and mature into the strongest version of themselves. He believes the best training programs start by understanding an individual’s unique goals, motivation, and mindset to create consistent and healthy training habits.

Fun Fact: When not seen in the gym, Damian is most likely climbing, surfing, or going on a backpacking trip.

Training with Sydney

Sydney has five years of experience in fitness and nutrition coaching, grounded in a lifelong passion for sports and athleticism. She grew up playing competitive sports and went on to play NCAA Division III college soccer. Her love for strength training emerged after enduring multiple traumatic events, where the gym became a space for healing, self-love, and resilience. Today, weightlifting gives her a sense of confidence and mental strength, and she is committed to helping her clients experience the same.

Sydney’s coaching style is trauma-informed, combining physical activity with emotional support and additional resources as needed. Believing that everyone with a body is an athlete, Sydney is experienced in working with a wide range of clients, from teenagers to seniors, and individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Having found her strength and confidence through lifting, she is on a mission to help others do the same.

Fun fact: Sydney is an environmentalist and partakes in thrifting, waste reduction, and advocacy.

How does she relax? With a meditation practice, yoga, and hot bath.

Favorite movement: Snatch

Xandréa Reynolds is a Portlander (born and raised!), Licensed Massage Therapist, and entrepreneur. During her time at East West Massage School of the Healing Arts, she was pregnant with her daughter Xyah—in 2013, she became an LMT at age 21. She believes that everybody deserves the healing power of massage, a release of both physical and mental blockages that we naturally accrue through living our lives. Connecting with our bodies through massage lets us become more in tune with ourselves—Xandréa brings this passion, her calling, to Collective Wellness, and her roster of over 200 clients exploring their health care journeys.

Having provided individualized client-focused massage therapy sessions for over a decade, she strives to uncover in her clients what is already there; a propensity for self-care, for connecting with our physical selves, for calming our anxious minds. For uncovering a state of parasympathetic healing and bliss, fulfilling our unique individual needs in a safe, nurturing, renewing way.

Xandréa has broadened her knowledge of massage since her initial certification, studying educated touch and intuition, as well as developing a focus on pre- and post-natal massage education, driven by her passion for motherhood.
